AC Group Education is a relationship-led alternative provision provider supporting children and young people to re-engage with education, build confidence and create positive futures.

Our Story

Our story began in 2007, when Alastair started working as a SEN sports coach under the name ACSC. From the beginning, the work was built around a simple belief: every young person deserves the chance to succeed.

Over the years, we saw more and more children and young people who were struggling within traditional education, not because they lacked ability or potential, but because they needed a different approach. What began as specialist sports coaching gradually developed into broader support, evolving through AC Coaching and later AC Group.

In 2019, the business became AC Group (Education) Ltd, building on more than a decade of experience supporting young people.

Today, AC Group Education is no longer just one person. We are a growing team of tutors, mentors and support staff who share the same commitment to providing genuine, relationship-focused support for children and young people who may need something different from mainstream education.

Working in homes and communities across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, we provide personalised 1:1 education, mentoring and alternative provision designed around the individual. We take the time to build trust, understand what each young person needs and help them re-engage with learning, build confidence and move forward.

Although AC Group has grown and changed since those early days in 2007, the principle behind our work remains the same: to see the young person first, recognise their potential and give them the support they need to succeed.

We support children and young people aged 8-25 who face barriers to education, including:
